Welcome to Career and Technical Education--Where Your Future Begins!

Students in the Harlandale ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program may select from over 20 Programs of Study within 12 Career Clusters as they build their high school 4-year plan that also includes an Endorsement.

In CTE, teachers with actual industry experience work with students as they begin setting the foundation for their career choice.  Students learn Employability Skills, Technical Skills needed on the job, and are provided opportunities to earn an industry-based certification.

Beginning in middle school, students begin exploring careers through several courses offered including Investigating Careers, College and Career Readiness, Gateway to Technology, and more. High School CTE Programs of Study prepare students for high-wage, high-skill, and in-demand careers.

Opportunities are available for students to participate in extra-curricular Career and Technical Student Organizations including the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS).  In addition, opportunities for participation in advanced academics including dual credit courses are available.  Partnerships with area 2-year colleges include Alamo Community Colleges, Texas State Technical College, and Alamo Academies.
